IS YOUR MOBILE STOLEN ?HOW CAN IT BE TRACKED DOWN?

Thanks to the mobile technology more and more criminals are getting caught simply by mobile phone.but how is this technology works in there arrest you may ask?All our mobile have some special numbers called IMEI,this is to identify the serial number of the gadget itself unlike simcard you can change but for this is a big no.
Through triangulation technology a service provider can point the exact location in real time.

WHAT TO DO IF YOUR MOBILE IS STOLEN

  • Report to the nearest police station
  • make sure you have your simcard number
  • phone make and model
  • the last call you made
  • imei number of lost phone.press *#06 to obtain it
  • your name also may be required.
The above informataion should be kept safe for emergency use, however the thief or kidnapper can change the simcard but this is pointless because whenever he makes a call the nearest tower registers the IMEI number.Even if the sim card is changed the imei still remains the same thus when triangulated can be tracked down.

To archive this is determined by the mobile telephone mast near you can pin point your location is determined by triangulation method.

This method of  localisation of a cellphone location can be achieved in various techniques.
TRIANGULATION

  • Hybrid-based-This is use of network and handset system
  • sim card-based- Raw information obtained via sim card though this method but its not effective
  • network-based- This is a more accurate can identify location of the handset ,this method doesn't affect the owners mobile phone because its non intrusive method. It depends with concentration of base stations.

  • handset- based-the cellphone  may be equipped with gps and software facility making it easier for an opperater to pin point exact location.
Some of the latest phone like IDEOS,IPphone,Nokia,Samsung are handset enabled localisation, yyour friend with similar phone can moniter your movement if configured gps application is configured.
